UX Testing Round 2, pt. 1

Sound

Deliverables:

  • Rough designs for each interaction, totaling 15 different sounds
  • Ambient bed of sound to play in the background

Testing:
Usability interview
I will first have the person listen to the ambient bed, and then play with the interactive sounds with the ambience playing. I will then ask questions about the sound.

Questions:

  • Was the sound relaxing?
  • Is there anything that was too jarring?
  • Was it too static?
  • Anything that would make it more relaxing?
  • Did the sounds fit the mood set by the ambience?
  • Were there any that didn’t fit?
  • What do you think about these sounds being triggered by your movement?
  • What sort of space do you imagine this sound to be playing in?
  • What words come to mind to describe the sound?

Visuals

Deliverables:

  • Basic scenery spanning the 4 walls with each plant featured on its own wall
  • 2 different versions of animation interaction: one with spotlight plant and one without

Questions:

  • Does the scenery feel immersive enough?
  • Does the scenery create a realistic sense of depth?
  • Is it necessary to use a featured plant which corresponds uniquely to the physical interaction?
  • What would make the scenery feel more relaxing?
  • How does scale affect the impact of the scenery?
